odern applications are glued together to work as a single unit where end-users access the Frontend to interact with the Application. But behind the curtains (i.e. Backend), there are multiple microservices working together to provide this experience. These services typically consist of core application layers (Python, Go, etc.), databases, APIs, and even containers running specific tasks. This is where the challenge arrives for the dev. teams to get a complete observability of the system and be able to identify problems precisely as if these microservices are working as expected, detect service degradation during high traffic volumes, or identify bottlenecks when users make calls to a specific service.

In this session, you will deep-dive into the core concepts of observability and see a demo on how to collect application metrics with Prometheus, aggregate logs with Loki, visualize data in Grafana, and configure custom alerts that catch issues before they impact users.
